It seems that, after the abuse, Rihanna did go back to Chris Brown for a short time due to her love for him but she soon realized that going back in that scenario was not something that she would want women that look up to her doing.
She mentioned that if by her going back to Chris that it encourage some other girl to give her abusive boyfriend/husband another chance that they might be going back into an abusive situation that might turn out even worse than before and that is not something that she would ever want to happen.
